Q?

Why is the Skagit Valley such a good place to grow quality potatoes?

A.

As the Skagit River washes through Washington's North Cascades National Park on its way to Puget Sound. When it arrives at the coast it spreads out and creates the Skagit Valley floor. Over thousands of years the deposits of silt have created a rich, loamy soil that is many feet thick, a nutrient-rich source of minerals that make our potatoes particularly flavorful and nutritious.

Weather plays an important role as well. Our cool, damp maritime climate provides us a long growing season and just the right conditions for optimum growth and development of perfect potatoes.
